Mom would made this every so often. Dad loved it.Sometimes, she would dump in a can of peas or corn (drained).

Ingredients

1 lb. ground beef
1 onion, minced
1 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. flour
1 1/2 cups milk
salt and pepper
hot rice or mashed or baked potatoes

Directions Step-By-Step

Creamed Hamburger

1 lb. ground beef
1 onion, minced
1 T. butter
2 T. flour
1 1/2 cups milk
Salt and pepper
Hot rice or mashed or baked potatoes

Brown meat and onion lightly in butter. Blend in flour. Gradually add milk
and cook, stirring until thickened. Season to taste. Serve on hot rice.
Serves 4

Well, if he did, he didn't do a very good job. The color didn't go with anything, and it was way too gummy. Totally Blech!

Ah, yes, indeedy, but it was murder trying to get it off the walls! That's pretty much where it ended up. Still love the guy, though, cooking snafus and all.
