This recipe was given to my grandmother's mother, to my grandmother and then to mine. It was found tucked in the back of an old book.

Ingredients For beef tonque, baked

  • 2 lb
    beef toque
  • 2 lg
    carrots
  • 2 lg
    onions
  • 1 c
    ketchup
  • 1/4 can
    water
  • salt and pepper

How To Make beef tonque, baked

    Boil tonque till tender,
  • 2
    While boiling tonque, slice carrots diagonally and thinly slice the onions.

    When the tonque is tender, cool, peel and slice.

    Add salt and pepper.

    In a large roasting pan, place onions and cover with the carrots. add sliced tonque in layers. Cover all with ketchup and water. cover and bake at 350dg for 30 minutes.

    Stir and continue baking 30 minutes longer.
