1 lb hamburger
1 c onion - chopped
2 c celery - chopped
1 can(s) mushroom soup
1 can(s) tomato soup
1 can(s) bean sprouts - drained
1 can(s) chow mein noodles or 1 pkg chow mein noodles

Vickie's Notes:

My Mother in law always brought this dish to family picnics / gathering and it was always a hit.
It is SO GOOD! It is one of our favorites.

 

Directions

Brown beef, onion, and celery. Add the rest of the ingredients. Mix well.

Place in a greased casserole dish and bake covered at 350 degrees F. for 45 minutes.

The recipe above is the "original" recipe, but being who I am, I had to add my own to have my own Bean Sprout Casserole. I add the following:
1 can drained SLICED WATER CHESTNUTS
2 TB. SOY SAUCE
1 TB. WORCESTERSHIRE SAUCE
1 tsp. fresh minced garlic
I stir everything up in the frying pan that I browned my hamburger in and turn the heat to low, add 1/4 Cup WATER and put the lid on and let this cook on low for about 20 more minutes so I don't have to start the oven. ~Iowafarmlady
