Beef with Broccoli

Ingredients

1 lb
round steak cut in strips
3 Tbsp
cornstarch
1/2 tsp
garlic powder
2 Tbsp
cooking oil
4 c
broccoli florets
1
small onion, chopped
1/3 c
soy sauce
2 Tbsp
brown sugar
1 tsp
ground ginger

Step-By-Step

1Combine 2 tbsp. corn starch, 2 tbsp water, garlic powder, stir until smooth. Add beef and toss until coated. Stir fry the beef in 1 tbsp. oil. When done, remove from pan and keep warm.
2In the same pan or wok, stir fry the broccoli and onion in 1 tbsp. oil for 4-5 minutes. Return the beef to the pan, mix.
3Mix soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, 1 tbsp. cornstarch and 3 tbsp. water, stir until smooth. Add to pan, cook and stir 2 minutes.
4Serve over rice.
5I usually add a small can of drained water chestnuts, just because I like them. You could add what makes you happy - some julienned carrots, perhaps cauliflower florets as well.
