1/2 csugar

1/4 cplus 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa

dashsalt

1/3 chot water

4 cmilk

3/4 tspvanilla
How To Make favorite hot cocoa

1Combine sugar, cocoa, and salt in medium saucepan; blend in hot water. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils; boil and stir 2 minutes. Add milk and heat to serving temperature (do not boil). Remove from heat; add vanilla. Beat with rotary beater until foamy.

2Variations: Substitute the follow flavors for the vanilla: Canadian Cocoa: 1/2 teaspoon maple extract. Irish Mint Cocoa: 1/2 teaspoon mint or peppermint extract. Orange Cocoa Cappuccino: 1/2 teaspoon orange extract. Swiss Mocha: 2 teaspoons instant coffee granules. Viennese Cocoa: 1/8 teaspoon each ground cinnamon and ground nutmeg. Serve with cinnamon stick.
