Espresso Sodas are quite popular in Manhattan (New York), and there are dozens of different variations of the drink. Bottled Espresso Soda can be found in a variety of stores and delis. But they're so easy to make at home, so there's not reason not to try. It's best to make in batches though, which not only reduces the labor if you want more than one, but it also allows the flavors to fully blend together while it's chilling.

The quantities for a single serving are:

1/4 cup sugar
1/2 to 1 Tbsp espresso beans, coarsely ground
1 shot coffee liqueur
1 shot vodka
1 shot club soda
