This recipe is from Better Homes and Gardens - Summertime Cooking 1990. A simple refreshing cocktail, with those favorites of summer--strawberries. Of course, you can make a non-alcoholic version.

Ingredients For berry slush

  • 1/2 can
    of a 6 oz frozen limeade or lemonade concentrate
  • 1/3 c
    light rum
  • 1 1/2 c
    fresh or frozen strawberries
  • 2 Tbsp
    or more sugar - to taste
  • ice cubes
  • 3
    strawberries, halved

How To Make berry slush

  • 1
    In a blender container, combine limeade or lemonade, and rum. Add strawberries and sugar. Blend, until smooth. With blender running, add ice cubes, one at a time, through opening in lid to make 4 cups of slushy mixture. (If mixture becomes too thick, before making 4 cups, add some water.)

    Pour or spoon into glasses. If desired, garnish with strawberries. Makes 6 (4 oz) servings.
