THIS IS AN OLD SOUTHERN FAVORITE MADE BY GENERATIONS OF FAMILY COOKS. THE CORNMEAL ADDS A LITTLE TEXTURE TO THE TOP OF THE PIE.

CORNMEAL
1 Tbsp
VINEGAR

Directions Step-By-Step

MELT BUTTER. ADD TO THE REST OF THE INGREDIENTS, DO NOT USE ELECTRIC MIXER, MIX BY HAND WITH A WISK. POUR INTO UNBAKED PIE CRUST AND BAKE AT 400 DEGREES FOR TEN MINUTES, THEN TURN OVEN DOWN TO 325 AND BAKE AN ADDITIONAL 40-45 MINUTES UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN ON TOP AND DOES NOT JIGGLE TOO MUCH WHEN YOU MOVE IT. YOU MAY HAVE TO COVER THE EDGE OF THE CRUST WITH ALUMINUM FOIL FOR THE LAST 15-20 MINUTES TO KEEP IT FROM GETTING TOO DARK

I SOMETIMES ADD JUST A FEW DROPS OF LEMON EXTRACT, BUT ITS A RECIPE THAT YOU CAN PLAY WITH THE FLAVOR WITH EXTRACTS AND OF COURSE CHOCOLATE.
