Simple Strawberry Pie

- baked, 9 inch pie crust
- 1 qt
- strawberries , chopped and divided
- 1 c
- 3 Tbsp
- corn starch
1In a saucepan, smash half of the chopped strawberries, in the crust; place the other half.
2Bring the strawberries in the pan to a boil; over medium - high heat and stir in the sugar and cornstarch. ( Continue stirring so not to burn )
Reduce heat to medium, and continue cooking until thickened.
Cool for about 10 minutes, and pour over the strawberries in the pie shell.
Chill and enjoy with or without a dollop of whipped cream.
