Stormy's Notes:

This is one of the recipes I took to a circle meeting on Lammas 2009. It was my first time eating this recipe. But It wasn't my last.

Here is an unusual, yet very tasty, brownie recipe for Pecan Pie Brownies. With the whole pecans and pie filling, these brownies taste like they're made with pralines

Lauries variations were:
add an extra egg and switch the pecan pie for still mostly frozen coconut cream pie chopped in chunks, and turned into cup cakes.

Other thoughts;
Cheesecake or cherry cheese cake instead of the pecan pie

Directions

1
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. (350 degrees if shiny metal pan). Lightly grease 9x13 pan.
Prepare brownie batter as directed.
Cut pecan pie into 1 to 1-1/2 inch cubes.
Gently stir cubes into brownie batter.
Bake for 45 to 50 minutes. Do not over cook,
Cool completely on wire rack.

Do you cut up the crust of the pie as well and put it in the brownies??

Outrageous! I could not find a frozen pecan pie so bought coconut cream pie instead and used that! Huge hit at my youth running program end-of-season practice. Thank you ~
