Nano's Apple Raisin Crumble

Elaine Smith

I used Gala apples in this recipe. It is so good served warm out of the oven, or even chilled. This recipe can be halved.

3 lb
firm apples (8-10), cut in chunks
1/2 c
1 tsp
lime juice
2 Tbsp
apple juice, or cider
1/2 c
granulated sugar
1/4 c
all purpose flour
1 tsp
ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp
ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp
ground allspice

1 1/2 c
all purpose flour
3/4 c
granulated sugar
3/4 c
light brown sugar
1 c
old-fashion oatmeal
2 stick
cold butter, cubed

1Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Prepare a 9 x 12 baking dish with non-stick spray.
2In a large bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, salt, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. Set aside. Core and peel all the apples and cut them into chunks. Add apples, raisins, lime juice, and apple juice. Toss all to combine. Add to the prepared baking dish.
3In a bowl combine flour, sugars, salt, oatmeal and cubed cold butter. Cut in cold butter and mix together until the mixture resembles large pebbles. Cover the fruit mixture with crumble in an even layer.
4Bake for 45 minutes, or until the crumble is golden and the fruit is bubbling.
