(no. 2 can) sour cherries
Drain juice from cherries into measuring cup. Add enough water to fill cup. Place into sauce pan and heat.
Sift flour, salt, baking powder and 3/4 cup sugar into mixing bowl.; add milk and margerine. Mix lightly until smooth.
Pour batter into greased 2 quart casserole. Drop drained cherries over it; sprinkly 1/2 cup sugar over them. Pour boiling cherry juice over all and bake at 350 about 1 hour. Crust will be on top.
