I was given this simple dessert recipe many years ago by a co-worker. It has remained a success throughout the years since she shared it with me. There were times at work when we had parties that I had to make individual pies for colleagues to take home--just to be able to have some to share during the party!
Allow cream cheese to warm to room temperature for ease of mixing. In mixing bowl, mix cream cheese, whipped topping, vanilla, sugar and crushed pineapple (drained)until well blended.
Spoon mixture into pie crust. Top with pineapple tidbits. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Slice and enjoy.
Other fruits can be used but some do not mix well in the filling. The basic mixture can be spooned into a pie crust then layered with favorite fruit. I have tried strawberries, peaches, and cherries. Use fresh fruit or pie filling as topping for this easy and tasty treat.
