Ingredients For creamy bavarian apple tart

  • 1/3 c
    butter, softened
  • 1/3 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • FOR THE FILLING
  • 1 pkg
    (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 c
    sugar
  • 1
    egg
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • FOR THE TOPPING
  • 4 c
    thinly sliced peeled tart apples (about 4 medium)
  • 1/3 c
    sugar
  • 3/4 tsp
    ground cinnamon

How To Make creamy bavarian apple tart

    Preheat oven to 400°. In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in flour, vanilla and cinnamon. Press onto bottom and 1 in. up sides of a greased 9-in. springform pan.

    In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla just until combined. Pour into crust.

    In another bowl, toss apples, sugar and cinnamon; arrange over filling. Bake 40-45 minutes or until apples are tender and crust is golden brown. Cool on a wire rack. Refrigerate leftovers.
