- eggs, slightly beaten
- 1 c
- granulated sugar
- 1 c
- karo syrup, light or dark -- doesn't make any difference
- 2 Tbsp
- butter or margarine
- 1 tsp
- vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 c
- pecans -- halves or pieces will do, but i like halves better.
- 9-in. unbaked pie crust
1Preheat oven to 350.
2In large bowl, stir eggs, sugar, syrup, butter, and vanilla until well blended. Sometimes I use an electric mixer, and sometimes I stir by hand. Either way is fine.
3Stir in pecans and pour into pie crust.
4Bake 50 to 55 minutes or until a table knife inserted halfway between center and edge comes out clean. Cool on wire rack.
5For our family, a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of warm pie is a must!
