Chocolate Pecan Pie

I actually think this is a Paula Deen recipe, she is my favorite! I made this pie for Thanksgiving with many turned up noses when i said what it was. One small taste from everyone turned into a pie that disappeared in minutes. Now everyone begs me to make them one for all family functions.

9 in pie crust.. (i just bought one in the frozen section)
2 c
pecans, halved
3 large
3 Tbsp
butter, melted
1/2 c
dark corn syrup
1 c
2 Tbsp
good quality bourbon (i just used jim beam)
3 oz
semi -sweet chocolate chopped ( chocolate chips are fine)

Directions Step-By-Step

preheat oven 375
Cover bottom of pie shell with pecans.
In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs and melted butter. Add the corn syrup,sugar,bourbon and chopped chocolate. Stir until all ingredients are combined. Pour mixture in pieshell over pecans and place on a heavy duty cookie sheet.Bake for 10 minutes. Then lower temp on oven to 350 and continue to bake for 25 minutes. Remove from oven and cool on wire rack.
