June's Story

Now this is what I call comfort food! It's just the thing you need on a cold winter's night. The kitchen always smells wonderful and draws you near when this is baking in the oven. And you'll probably find someone else besides your self waiting for this to come out of the oven!

Ingredients

1/2 c
butter, room temperature

1 1/2 c
sugar
3 Tbsp
all purpose flour

eggs well beaten
1 c
buttermilk
1 tsp
vanilla, salt or lemon juice optional
IF YOUR MIXTURE CURDLES IT'S OKAY!

Directions Step-By-Step

Mix all ingredients in the mixer until light and well blended. Pour into Pie shell and grate nutmeg over the top of the filling.

Bake on 350 until tooth pick comes out clean and center springs back. Serve warm or cold!

I use the Amish Pie Crust recipe that I posted on here for this pie due to its tenderness, lightness and flavor!
