Sue's Story

This recipe came from a friend of mine, a Pastor's wife from Georgia. Have not found a pecan pie recipe I like better! Great pie for the holidays!

Ingredients

BEST EVER PECAN PIE
1/2 c
melted butter
1 c
light brown sugar
1 c
light karo syrup
pinch
salt
4
eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 c
coarsely chopped pecans

Directions Step-By-Step

Melt butter and add 1 cup brown sugar, stirring well.

Add white Karo syrup and a pinch of salt, blending well.

Add four lightly beaten eggs and mix together well.

Pour into unbaked pie crust, add pecans on top of pie filling, and bake at 400 for 10 minutes and 350 for 35 minutes.

Sue, How do I know when it's done. Is there a knife test..I mean, the pie was pretty jiggly when I pulled it out of the oven.

I love Pecan Pie. But I would like for my pecan pieces to be throughout the filling, not just rise to the top. Can anyone tell me how to "sink" some of them?

Made this recipe for Thanksgiving dinner. We couldn't eat it because it didn't set up. Tried rebaking it this morning. Was a little better, but not much. Don't know what happened. Followed recipe as written. Very disappointing.
