Aunt Leslie's Pie Crust

My Aunt Leslie makes the best pie crust around. It's always light and flaky, and it just melts in your mouth!! This recipe makes enough for a top and bottom crust for a 9" pie pan.

double crust
Prep:

Method:
Bake

Ingredients

2 c
all purpose flour
1 c
vegetable shortening
1/2 Tbsp
sugar
1/2 tsp
white vinegar
1 large
egg
1/2 c
water

Step-By-Step

1In a small bowl, whisk together the vinegar, egg and water until well combined. Set aside.
2In a second bowl combine the flour and sugar, cutting in the shortening until crumbly and about the size of peas.
3Combine all ingredients until just incorporated (too much mixing will make the crust tough!). Form into a ball, wrap in tin foil and place in the fridge for 1/2 hour, then roll out.
