Apple Pie Filling (Good for freezing)

Heidi's Story

My mom and dad used to use this recipe when they had LOTS of apples from their tree and needed to use them up they would freeze lots of apple pie filling and it was nice to have on hand


6 c
peeled sliced apples
3/4 c
3 Tbsp
1/2 tsp
1 Tbsp
lemon juice (opt.)
3 Tbsp

Directions Step-By-Step

Mix dry ingredients, add apples to dry mix and toss apples till coated. Use freezer gallon size bags removing as much air as possible...
When you decide to use, Thaw apples and than add margarine on top of apple mix when you make a pie if you choose to use margerine

    I have a question really... noticed on your recipe for the pie, you added flour (3 tbsp) and on this recipe, basically the same thing, but does not add the flour. Is this a typo, or do you not use flour at all for freezing the filling.

    Hi, love the idea freezing apple pie filling for later use. Just wanted to be sure, do you add 3 tbsp. of flour before freezing the filling?

    I have alot of apples and want to dehydrate them the machine does not have instruction with it. any body have inf on this . thanks
