Apple Pie Caramel Almond

Ingredients

1 c
flour
2 tsp
salt
1 Tbsp
sugar
1/2 c
vegetable oil
1 Tbsp
milk
5
tart apples, peeled, cored, sliced
4 Tbsp
sugar or brown sugar
1 Tbsp
cornstarch
1 Tbsp
lemon juice
1/4 c
butter, softened
1/2 c
sugar
2 Tbsp
flour
2 Tbsp
milk
1 tsp
cinnamon
3 oz
almonds, sliced
sour cream

Step-By-Step

1In small bowl, stir together flour, sugar and salt.
2With fork, beat together salad oil and milk.
3Stir oil mix into flour mix to make a soft dough.
4Press dough into 9 inch pie plate or 10 inch shallow au-gratin dish.
5Press edges to make sides about 1 inch high in gratin dish; make sides come to top of pie plate.
6Bake at 425 for 10-12 minutes or until golden.
7While crust bakes, prepare apples.
8Mix with sugar, cornstarch and lemon juice.
9Turn into baked pie shell.
10Melt butter in skillet.
11Add sugar, flour, cinnamon and almonds.
12Boil 1 minute, stirring.
13Pour over apples in pan to coat evenly.
14Bake at 425 for 25-30 minutes or until caramel topping is golden and bubbly.
15Cool before serving.
16Serve with sour cream, or lightly sweetened whipped cream.
