My husband loves this pie! I had a can of Apple Pie filling in the pantry and some pears that were beginning to go bad, in the refrigerator... so I thought Hmmmmmmmm maybe I can make an Apple Pear pie. It turned out delicious!!!

Ingredients

5 large
pears, peeled and sliced
2 Tbsp
butter, room temperature
1/4 c
brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 tsp
cinnamon
1 can(s)
apple pie filling
1/4 tsp
salt

PIE CRUST

2 1/4 c
flour
1/2 c
butter, melted
1/2 c
canola oil
6 Tbsp
ice water
1/2 tsp
salt

REFRIGERATE PIE CRUST DOUGH FOR 1 HOUR BEFORE YOU ROLL IT OUT!

Step-By-Step

1Peel and slice pears to desired size.
2Melt butter in a frying pan. Add brown sugar and cinnamon and salt. Cook the pears for a few minutes, and then add a can of Apple Pie filling. Simmer until hot and desired consistency.
3Pour into prepared pie pan. Cover apples and pears with the second pie crust. Poke holes in top of pie crust. I like to make hearts!
4Bake in a 400 degree oven for approximately 40 minutes or less depending on how brown you like your crust! We like ours browned and crispy!
