Apple Crumb Pie

Ingredients

2 lb
granny smith apples, peeled, thinly sliced (about 6 cups)
3/4 c
granulated sugar
2 Tbsp
minute tapioca
1/2 tsp
ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp
ground nutmeg
1/2 c
flour
1/4 c
firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 c
cold butter or margarine, cut into pieces
1
ready to use refrigerated pie crust (1/2 of 14.1 oz. package)

Step-By-Step

1Heat oven to 400.
2Toss apples with granulated sugar, topioca and spices in a large bowl. Let stand for 15 minutes. Mix flour and brown sugar in to a medium bowl. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs; set aside.
3Line a 9-inch pie plate with crust as directed on package for one crust pie. Fill with fruit mixture; top with crumb mixture. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until juices from bubbles that burst slowly. Then Cool.
