JoSele's Story

This is considered a custard pie..I like this pie because it is simple to make...And very smooth...This is a good holiday pie....Similar to a vinegar pie.....I love Amish recipes..they are simple taste great....

Ingredients

1
unbaked pie shell
1 1/2 c
sugar
1 c
butter or margarine melted
3 large
eggs, beaten
1/2 c
buttermilk
OR 1/4 CUP OF SWEET MILK
AND 1/4 CUP APPLE CIDER VINEGAR
1 tsp
vanilla extract
1/4 c
flour

Directions Step-By-Step

Mix sugar and flour together then add melted butter, cream together, add eggs, buttermilk and vanilla.

Mix well pour in pie shell and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until knife comes out clean.

I love Buttermilk Pie and my oldest daughter usually makes them for the holidays, but has not made any in a couple of years and I am just dying for one, so I am headed out this morning to buy the pie shell and buttermilk!!!! Can't wait. Thanks for the recipe!
