Ingredients

1 unbaked pie shell
1 1/2 c sugar
1 c butter or margarine melted
3 large eggs, beaten
1/2 c buttermilk
OR 1/4 CUP OF SWEET MILK
AND 1/4 CUP APPLE CIDER VINEGAR
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 c flour

This is considered a custard pie..I like this pie because it is simple to make...And very smooth...This is a good holiday pie....Similar to a vinegar pie.....I love Amish recipes..they are simple taste great....

Mix sugar and flour together then add melted butter, cream together, add eggs, buttermilk and vanilla.

Mix well pour in pie shell and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until knife comes out clean.

JoSele, since it is a custard type pie could you sprinkle sugar on top and broil like a creme brulee?

Yes you can, you can do anything you want...I bet it would be good if you added a little Amaretto, or Captain Morgan Spiced Rum to it too....YUMMMMY

Love the idea of those flavors, i want to go get one of those mini torches to caramelize them! new toy! It works great on corn and many other things

My mom got me one for my birthday 2 years ago I have only used it 2 times so far...I have been wanting to get some Brulee' sp dishes so I can use it..I never though about using it for other things...Thanks
