One of my desserts made with my favorite candy bar!!!

pinch tips: How to Brown Chicken


1/2 stick
2 c
powdered sugar
2 tsp
egg yolks
1 pt
heavy cream, whipped
angel food cake, torn in chunks
1/2 c
nuts, chopped
butterfinger bars, crushed

Directions Step-By-Step

Cream butter, sugar, vanilla and egg yolks in a large bowl. Fold in whipped cream. Place half of the angel food cake pieces in a 9x13 dish. Spread half of the cream mixture, then sprinkle with half the nuts and half the crushed butterfinger bars. Repeat layers. Refrigerate overnight. Enjoy!!

This sounds so good. I do have to ask, do you use the egg yolks without them being sterilized? Every store here in the area surrounding the Washington, DC area, warns us not to use the eggs without some form of sterilization. The danger of salmonella is very real. Is there some way to prepare the egg yolks to make them safe? Or is there some special product we can buy to substitute?
