Jacque's Story

This is such an easy recipe and a quick way to satisfy everyone's sweet tooth. I've made this for family events and everyone loves it. Sadly, I haven't given out the recipe to anyone until now, but my sisters will be delighted when they see it here. Enjoy!

1 stick
(1/2 cup) butter

egg, lightly beaten
1 c
1 c
all purpose flour
1 c
2 tsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
2 qt
strawberries, whole, capped and washed
4 oz
cream cheese, cut into small pieces

Directions Step-By-Step

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt butter and pour into a 9x13 inch glass baking dish. In a small bowl, mix together the egg, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Pour directly over the butter in the baking dish, but do not stir.
Add the strawberries, arranging in a single layer as much as possible. Sprinkle cream cheese pieces over strawberries.
Place in preheated oven and bake for 45 minutes or until top is golden brown and edges are bubbling (Crust rises up and around the fruit, but fruit will still peek out of top).

This desert tastes so good served warm.

I love this recipe. It is so easy to prepare and looks so elegant. Next time, I want to try to add some sort of balsamic vinegar glaze just to see how that would taste.

I made this a few weeks ago. It was so simple and easy to make. My sister saw it on FB and asked me to make it for her. It was so good.

I made this tonight and it is fantastic. I did forget the milk because it is not listed in the directions, but I'd leave it out again, its good without it! I used 4 cups of freshly picked strawberries and that was more than enough. Great, simple, and tasty!!!
