Sometimes I can get burned out on the regular apple crisp, so I change it up and make this recipe instead. I like to serve it warm with whipped cream. It very good cold too.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Notes from the Test Kitchen:
This is a great fruit crisp recipe! A bit different from a traditional recipe by using bran flakes as the topping. The cereal gets toasted adds a wonderful crunch to every bite. The orange flavor from the Tang was a surprise burst of flavor. Super yummy.

Ingredients

1 can(s)
sliced peaches, drained (1 lb. 13 oz. can) or you can use 2 pkg's frozen peaches, thawed and drained (12 oz. ea.)
1/2 c
sugar
2 Tbsp
Tang instant breakfast drink
1 Tbsp
tapioca (I use Minute Brand)
1 Tbsp
butter, melted
1/4 tsp
salt
1/4 tsp
ground cinnamon
2 Tbsp
butter
2 c
Post Grape-Nuts Flakes
3 Tbsp
brown sugar
2 Tbsp
Tang instant breakfast drink

Step-By-Step

1Combine the first 7 ingredients in a 1.5 qt baking dish. Mix well. Allow to stand for 15 minutes.
2Cover and bake @ 375 degrees for 30 minutes.
3Melt the remaining 2 tbsp of butter in a large skillet; add the cereal. Stir until butter is absorbed. Sprinkle with the brown sugar. Stir and heat until melted.
4Remove from heat and sprinkle with the remaining instant breakfast Tang drink; mix well.
5After 30 minutes, uncover baked fruit mixture and top with the cereal mixture. Place back in the oven and bake uncovered for 3 minutes more.
