Ingredients For dutch oven cobbler

  • 1 cup butter (2 sticks)
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup evaporated milk
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 4 cups sweetened canned fruit with juice
  • (you can use any kind of fruit, i used fresh peaches)

How To Make dutch oven cobbler

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Melt butter in Dutch oven over low heat on top of stove

    Mix sugar, flour, baking powder and salt in a medium bowl. Stir milk and water into dry ingredients gradually and mix until very moist. Pour batter into Dutch oven on top of butter. Pour fruit on top of batter in Dutch oven.

    Cover dutch oven with lid and cook for 1 1/2 hours or until golden brown on top. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.

    **You can use fresh fruit if desired. If using fresh fruit, mix fruit with 1/2 cup sugar and 1 Tbls. fruit fresh and cook on stove 15 min before adding to dutch oven. -
