Crock Pot Strawberry and Dumplings

this is the old way my grandmother used to do this dessert it is one of our many favorites

Ingredients

2 lb
fresh strawberries, hulled, cleaned and sliced
1 1/3 c
sugar
1 1/3 c
water
2 Tbsp
butter
3/4 c
all purpose flour
2 1/2 tsp
baking powder
1/2 tsp
salt
1 tsp
ground cinnamon
2 Tbsp
sugar
1
egg
1/3 c
milk

Step-By-Step

1Place the strawberries and equal parts sugar and water in a 2-3 quart slow cooker. Cover with lid and cook on high for 2-1/2 hours. Before cooking for 2-1/2 hours add the dumpling mixture to it.
2After cooking for this long you will see the strawberries are breaking down and the mixture has thickened up.
3At this point you add the butter and stir to give it a silky, creamy texture.
