Joan's Story

My son bought a flat of strawberries from the Pontchatoula Strawberry festival. I was trying to think of different ways to use the strawberries and I came up with this rendition of the popular dump cake. I made this for Easter dinner and everyone loved it. Super easy and delicious!

Ingredients

1 can(s)
pineapple, crushed with juice
3 or 4
bananas, sliced
2 c
strawberries, fresh or frozen
2 Tbsp
sugar
1/2 c
pecans, in pieces
1 box
yellow cake mix
2 stick
butter or margarine

Directions Step-By-Step

1
Spray 13X9 in. pan with cooking spray. Dump 20 oz. can of pineapple with juice and spread in pan. Distribute banana slices all over top. Cover this with strawberries. Sprinkle sugar over strawberries. Next sprinkle pecan pieces all over. Take dry cake mix and sprinkle all over strawberries. Spread evenly.
2
Melt butter in microwave for 1 minute or until melted. Pour butter evenly all over top of cake mix. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes until golden brown. To make it even better, top with your choice of ice cream. Enjoy!

It is great....I didn't put the sugar over strawberries and it definitely was sweet enough without it....Making some and freezing for Father's Day....
