Ingredients

apples
1 Tbsp
flour
1 tsp
nutmeg
1 tsp
cinnamon
1 stick
butter, cold
1 c
sugar
2 large
pie crust shells

Step-By-Step

Step 1 Direction Photo

1Cut 1 stick of butter into small cubes, place into a 2 quart saucepan on medium heat. Wisk in flour, stirring until smooth. Add spices and apples. Simmer on medium heat.

2Prepare a double crust according to recipe directions. (See sweet pie crust)

3Place prepared crust into a deep dish pie pan. Add apple filling.

4Dot with bits of butter. Cut second pie crust into 1" strips, create a lattice design.
Bake at 425 degrees for 50 minutes.
