Ingredients For traditional pumpkin pie

19 inch unbaked pastry shell

1 can16 ounces pumpkin (about 2 cups)

1 can14 ounces sweetened condensed milk

2eggs

1 tspground cinnamon

1/2 tspground ginger

1/2 tspground nutmeg

1/2 tspsalt
How To Make traditional pumpkin pie

1Preheat oven to 425. In large mixer bowl, combine all ingredients except pastry shell; mix well. Pour into pastry shell. Bake 15 minutes.

2Reduce oven temperature to 350; bake 35-40 minutes longer or until knife inserted 1 inch from edge comes out clean. Cool. Garnish, as desired. Refrigerate leftovers.

3For sour cream topping: In medium bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups sour cream, 2 tablespoons sugar, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. After 30 minutes of baking at 350, spread evenly over top of pie; bake 10 minutes longer. Garnish, as desired. For streusel topping: In medium bowl, combine 1/2 cup firmly packed lightly brown sugar and 1/2 cup flour; cut in 1/4 cup cold butter or butter until crumbly. Stir in 1/4 cup chopped nuts. After 30 minutes of baking at 350, sprinkle on top of pie; bake 20 minutes longer or until golden.
