Ingredients For chocolate frozen dessert

  • 1 pkg
    16 ounces chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed (about 1 3/4 cups)
  • 1/2 c
    butter, melted
  • 1/2 gal
    vanilla ice cream (in rectangular block)
  • 2/3 c
    pecan pieces (optional)
  • chocolate sauce (below)
  • FOR CHOCOLATE SAUCE
  • 2 c
    powdered sugar
  • 1/2 c
    butter
  • 1 1/2 c
    12 ounce can evaporated milk
  • 1 c
    semi sweet chocolate chips

How To Make chocolate frozen dessert

    In medium bowl, combine crushed cookies and butter. Press mixture onto bottom of 13x9x2 inch pan or two 8 inch square pans. Cut ice cream into 1/2 inch slices; place over crust. Cover; freeze 1-2 hours or until firm.

    Uncover pan(s); pour Chocolate Sauce over ice cream. Sprinkle pecan pieces over top, if desired. Cover; freeze until firm.

    For Chocolate Sauce: In medium saucepan, combine powdered sugar, butter, evaporated milk, and chocolate chips. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture boils; boil and stir 8 minutes. Remove from heat; cool slightly.
