3bananas

9wooden ice cream sticks or skewers

2 c(12 ounce) package semi sweet chocolate chips

2 Tbspshortening

1 1/2 ccoarsely chopped unsalted, roasted peanuts
How To Make chocolate covered banana pops

1Peel bananas; cut each into thirds. Insert wooden stick into each banana piece; place on wax paper covered tray. Cover; freeze until firm. In top of double boiler over hot, not boiling, water, melt chocolate chips and shortening. Remove bananas from freezer just before dipping.

2Dip each piece into warm chocolate, covering completely; allow excess to drip off. Immediately roll in peanuts. Cover; return to freezer. Serve frozen.
