Ingredients

1 c
shortening
2
eggs
2 c
sugar
4 1/2 c
flour
2 tsp
salt
1 tsp
each - baking soda & baking powder
1 c
soured milk
juice
of one orange
grated
rind of two oranges

FROSTING

3 3/4 c
confectioners' sugar
1 Tbsp
softened, butter
1
orange, juiced and rind grated - add more juice if needed to get desired spreading consistency

Step-By-Step

1Preheat oven to 400 degree F.

In a large mixing bowl, cream shortening, eggs and sugar.

2Combine flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder.

3Mix in the dry ingredients, with the wet mixture, alternating with the sour milk. Ending with flour.

Stir in the rind and juice.

4Drop by teaspoonful on a lightly greased baking sheet.

Bake for 8 - 10 minutes or until beginning to color on edges.

5Remove from sheet pan to cooling racks.

6Cool completely and then frost.

Frosting:

In a medium bowl, combine frosting ingredients, mix well, and add more juice if need be...you want it to be thicker though, not a glaze.
