MALDON SALTED CARAMEL DELIGHTFUL COOKIES
About 4 dozen cookies
all purpose flour (plus 1 to 2 additional tablespoons if omitting nuts)
butter (2 sticks), softened
pure vanilla extract
(1 pkg.) caramel filled morsels
chopped nuts (optional)
maldon salt or other flaky sea salt
1Assemble ingredients and utensils.
2Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a small bowl; set aside.
3Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy.
4Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
5Gradually beat in flour mixture. (Remember to add 1 to 2 extra tablespoons of flour if not adding nuts.)
6Stir in morsels and nuts.
7Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
8Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets (I line mine with parchment paper.)
9Bake 5 minutes, remove from oven and sprinkle each cookie with a pinch of Maldon salt.
10Return to oven and bake an additional 6 minutes or until golden brown.
11Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
