Ingredients For fresh orange cookies

  • 1 1/2 c
    sugar
  • 1 c
    butter, softened
  • 1 c
    sour cream
  • 2
    eggs
  • 4 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    salt
  • 2/3 c
    orange juice
  • 3 Tbsp
    grated orange peel
  • FOR FROSTING
  • 1/4 c
    butter, melted
  • 2 c
    powdered sugar
  • 1 Tbsp
    grated orange peel
  • 2-3 Tbsp
    orange juice

How To Make fresh orange cookies

    Heat oven to 375. In large bowl, beat sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add sour cream and eggs; beat well. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. Add flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, orange juice, and 3 tablespoons grated orange peel; mix well.

    Drop by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 for 8-11 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheets.

    In small bowl, combine all frosting ingredients; beat until smooth. Frost warm cookies.
