1 pkg17 1/4 ounces frozen puff pastry, thawed according to package directions

1egg, beaten

1/4 csugar, divided

2 oz2 squares semisweet chocolate
How To Make elephant ears

1Preheat oven to 375. Grease cookie sheets; sprinkle lightly with water. Roll one sheet of pastry to 12x10 inch rectangle. Brush with egg; sprinkle with 1 tablespoon sugar. Tightly roll up 10 inch sides, meeting in center. Brush center with egg and seal rolls tightly together; turn over.

2Cut into 1/4 inch thick slices. Place slices 2 inches apart on prepared cookie sheets. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon sugar. Repeat with remaining pastry, egg, and sugar. Bake 15 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to wire racks; cool completely.

3Melt chocolate in small heavy saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly. Spread bottoms of cookies with chocolate. Place chocolate side up on wire rack; let stand until set.
