Ingredients For best brownies

  • 1/2 c
    vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 1 c
    butter
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1/3 c
    unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/4 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    chopped nuts (optional)
  • creamy brownie frosting (below)
  • FOR THE CREAMY BROWNIE FROSTING
  • 3 Tbsp
    butter, softened
  • 3 Tbsp
    unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 Tbsp
    light corn syrup or honey
  • 1/2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1 c
    powdered sugar
  • 1-2 Tbsp
    milk

How To Make best brownies

  • 1
    Blend oil or melted butter, sugar, and vanilla in large mixing bowl. Add eggs, using a spoon, beat well. Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt; gradually blend into egg mixture. Stir in nuts.

    Spread in greased 9 inch square pan. Bake at 350 for 20-25 minutes or until brownie begins to pull away from edges of pan. Cool; frost with Creamy Brownie Frosting. Cut into squares.

    For Creamy Brownie Frosting: Cream butter, cocoa, corn syrup or honey, and vanilla in small mixer bowl. Add powdered sugar and milk; beat to spreading consistency.
