This is a cake my Mom use to make. It's so loaded with goodies, why bother with a frosting. This ones for you MOM!

Ingredients

1 3/4 c
boiling water
1 c
uncooked oatmeal
1 c
brown sugar, firmly packed
1 c
granulated sugar
1 stick
butter
1 large
eggs
1 3/4 c
unsifted flour
1 tsp
baking soda
1/2 tsp
salt
1 Tbsp
cocoa
12 oz
pkg. chocolate chips
3/4 c
chopped walnuts

Step-By-Step

1Pour boiling water over oatmeal in mixing bowl of standard mixer. Let stand for 10 minutes. Add sugars and butter. Stir until butter has melted.
2Add eggs and mix well. Sift together flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa. Add flour mixture to batter and mix well. Add you chips and nuts.
3Pour in a 13x9 pan and bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until cake tests done in center and toothpick comes out clean.
