Grease and flour a 10" tube pan, cream butter and sugar until light. Add vanilla, grated orange, eggs one at a time, beating after each.
Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Add alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour. Beat well after each addition.
Spoon into greased tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 1 hour. Cool cake in pan for 2 minutes. Pour glaze over cake in pan.
For the glaze; heat the butter, sugar and orange juice until the sugar is dissolved. Pour glaze over cake. Allow cake to thoroughly cool in pan.
