~ Cherry Cheesecake Dessert ~

yellow cake mix / reserve 3/4 cup

vegetable oil - enough to be able to press out into pan

cream cheese - softened
can - cherry pie filling ( i use two )
1Preheat oven to 300 degree F.
In a medium sized bowl, combine cake mix ( after reserving 3/4 cup ) with 1 egg and oil.
Press into bottom and somewhat up the sides of a 9 x 13 baking dish. Set aside.
2In a large bowl, with hand mixer, blend cream cheese with 1/2 cup sugar.
3Add eggs and reserved 3/4 cup cake mix. Beat until smooth.
4Add milk, lemon juice and vanilla. Blend well, make sure you scrape the sides of the bowl.
5Pour evenly into prepared crust.
Bake for 50 - 55 minutes or until set and beginning to become golden around edges.
6Spread on the cherry topping and refrigerate until chilled and ready to serve. I also add a dollop of whipped cream to each individual piece.
