Broiled Coconut Topping

This makes enough topping for a 9 X 13 cake. I've used this topping on a variety of cakes over the years and it never fails to draw compliments.

Ingredients

1/4 c
butter, softened
2/3 c
brown sugar
1 c
flaked coconut
1/2 c
chopped nuts (optional)
3 Tbsp
milk
12 tsp
vanilla extract

Step-By-Step

1Mix all ingredients well and spread on warm cake.

2Place cake under broiler until topping bubbles and browns slightly. Watch carefully as it burns easily.
