An easy cookie made at Christmas time. The frosting in the center of these delightful cookies really complements these little gems!

Ingredients

1/2 c
butter

1 c
brown sugar
1
egg, well beaten
1 tsp
vanilla
2 1/4 c
flour
1 tsp
baking soda
1/4 tsp
salt


Directions Step-By-Step

Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Blend in egg and vanilla. Add flour, baking soda, and salt and mix well. Drop by teaspoonful onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Make a well in center of each cookie.

Filling: 1 c. finely chopped walnuts; 1/2 c. brown sugar, 1/4 c. sour cream

To prepare filling, combine all ingredients and stir until well mixed. Spoon 1 tsp. filling into well of each cookie. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 - 12 minutes or until golden brown. ENJOY!!

    This sounds a little like what I have been looking for. My grandma had a recipe similar to this, or so it may seem. I'm going to give this one a try. Have you used pecans? I wanted to bake some cookies this weekend and I think I may make these.

    Stephanie, should the well be a little deeper than what the teaspoon of filling will hold, or should the filling come up "flush" with the top of the cookie dough? (if that makes sense!)

    Come up flush with the dough. If it spills over a little, that's fine too.
