Ingredients For soft ginger puffs

  • 1/2 c
    butter, softened
  • 3/4 c
    sugar
  • 3
    eggs
  • 1 c
    molasses
  • 1 c
    sour cream
  • 3 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp
    ground ginger
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp
    each ground allspice, cinnamon, and nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 c
    raisins
  • 1 1/2 c
    chopped walnuts

How To Make soft ginger puffs

    In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in molasses and sour cream. Combine the flour, ginger, baking soda, allspice, cinnamon, and nutmeg; gradually add to the creamed mixture and mix well. Stir in raisins and walnuts.

    Drop by tablespoonfuls 1 inch apart onto greased baking sheets. Bake at 375F for 10-12 minutes or until the edges begin to brown. Remove to wire racks to cool.
