SLICED NUT COOKIES

This is an OLD recipe passed down from my grandmother and maybe even beyond....takes preparation, but then is so easy to just slice and bake....and they are delicious.

Ingredients

1 1/2 c
melted crisco
1 c
white sugar
1 c
brown sugar
3
well-beaten eggs
1 c
chopped nuts (walnuts best)
5 c
flour (sifted)
1 tsp
baking soda
1 tsp
salt
1 tsp
cinnamon

Step-By-Step

1Cream crisco with sugars.
Add eggs slowly. Mix well.
2Stir in nuts, then dry ingredients.
3Shape into a roll (or 2) 2 1/2"-3" thick.
Put in wax paper in refrigerator overnight.
(The log will be the consistency of soft fudge)
4Slice thin and bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes until they begin to brown.
