Pumpkin Apple Bars By Freda

Ingredients

PUMPKIN APPLE BARS
4 eggs
1 2/3 cups sugar
1 Cup veg. oil ( or 1/2 cup applesauce for 1/2 c of the oil)
1 can 15 oz can of pumpkin, ( not the pumpkin pie mix)
2 Cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 Cup fresh apples, peeled, chopped & diced ( fuji or gala)
CREAM CHEESE FROSTING
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 C butter, room temperature
2 Cups powdered sugar
1 Tsp cinnamon
1 Tsp vanilla extract

This is a family favorite that My kids all loved while growing up. My Daughter called me the other night telling me she was making the Pumpkin baers we had as kids for her kids and grands. Just Brought back memories of the good Times we emjoyed as family..
I used to add raisins and Nuts, Today I added Some Fresh apple bits and these were so Moist and so Good You just couldn't have just one bar. . .

Very Simple Bars to Make. . . makes a large pan. 10X 13 size.

Directions

Preheat Oven @ 350.
Grease a 10 X 13 pan
Peel Chop and dice apple and set aside.

Mix Eggs, sugar, Oil & pumpkin well with electric Mixer, til light and fluffy.

Stir together Dry Ingredients, Flour, Baking Pdr, Soda, Cinn, nutmeg, & Salt.
Now, Add 2 Tbs of the Flour Mixture to Fresh Diced and Chopped apples. Toss very well. Set aside the apples.

Add all the Dry ingredients to the Pumpkin mixture, Mix on Low speed til batter is smooth and wel blended.
Now you can add the Floured apples and stir well to Blend.

Pour your batter evenly into Greased 10X13 pan.
Bake @ 350 for 30 min.
Let Cool completely, before frosting.
Frost with cream Cheese Frosting.
Cut into 2 X 3" bars and enjoy.

I betcha you can't have just one!!!

FROSTING:
Mix the Cream Cheese, & Butter in a med Bowl, using an electric Mixer til smooth and fluffy.
Add; Pdr Sugar, mix well.
STIR in Vanilla, and Cinnamon.
Frost your Completely Cooled Bars. . . Now Enjoy

Freda...these sound so good. Definiely saving. But seriously, did you say your daughter was making these for your grandchildren? What were you like 12 when you had kids? You look like you're around 30 for goodness sakes. Must be all those Pumpkin Apple Bars keeping you young. I think I'll make some now!

Joanne. . . , I have 13 Grand Kids and 3 great Grands. This Photo is the One My Kids Choose to Put on here, It was taken about 15 yrs ago, its their favorite.
My Oldest Daughter had 8 children and is 44. . . Her Children gave me 3 great Grands so far. This is the Daugfhter that was making these for her Kids, which are all almost grown, Onloy 2 left at home I believe. My grandmother Never Had a gray Hair til she hit 80. My Mother is 83 and has very Little gray. Don't Think I am going to be so Lucky.

Freda , these sound delicious , I love pumpkin bars and the apple in them sounds even more amazing ...a must try for me ...yummy :D
