Ingredients For peppermint brownies

3/4 ccanola oil

2 csugar
-
2 tspvanilla

4eggs

1 1/3 call purpose flour

1 cbaking cocoa
-
1 tspbaking powder

1 tspsalt

3/4 ccrushed peppermint candy, divided
- FOR THE GLAZE

1 c6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips

1 Tbspshortening
How To Make peppermint brownies

1Line a 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan with foil; grease foil and set aside. In a large bowl, beat oil and sugar until blended. Beat in vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine the flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt; gradually add to oil mixture. Set aside 2 tablespoons peppermint candy for garnish; stir in remaining candy. Spread into prepared pan.

2Bake at 350° for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool on a wire rack.

3For glaze, in a microwave, melt chocolate chips and shortening; stir until smooth. Spread over brownies; sprinkle with reserved candy.
