this is a tasty version of pecan pie made into bars...my family loves these any time of the year!
pudding included butter cake mix
2heat oven to 350F-grease a 13x9" pan-reserve 3/4 dry cake mix for filling
3in a large bowl combine remaining cake mix, 1/3 cup butter & one egg at low speed until well blended- spread in prepared pan-bake at 350 degrees for 15 - 20 minutes or until light golden brown
5melt caramels, water and 1/4 cup butter in a sauce pan over a low heat-stir occasionally until smooth
6combine sugar, vanilla, 3 eggs & remaining cake mix-gradually fold sauce & mix well-stir in pecans-pour into base-return to oven & bake for 40 minutes-cool completely-cut into bars-store in refrigerator
