Ingredients

1/2 c
shortening
1/2 c
butter
1 box
light brown sugar
2
eggs, well beaten
2 1/2 c
all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp
salt
1/2 tsp
baking soda
1 tsp
vanilla extract
1 c
pecans ~ finely chopped

Step-By-Step

1Preheat oven 350 degrees F
Cream shortening and butter thoroughly, gradually add sugar and cream well. Add well-beaten eggs.
Reduce speed of mixer and add the flour that has been sifted with salt and soda. Add vanilla. Stir in chopped pecans.
2Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet, two inches apart.

Bake for about 10 minutes in a 350 degree oven.
Yields ~ 5-6 dozen
